What to Pack
in your Hospital Bag
- A car seat
for your baby is required by all hospitals
- Your
hospital registration/admission forms and insurance cards
- Warm, soft
socks and slippers for walking around the hospital or to and from the bathroom.
- A
comfortable robe that is open in the front
- If you have
long hair, a scrunchie or hair tie is helpful to keep the hair out of your face
during labor
- Baby Blanket
- Baby hat
- Camera/Camcorder
- Your pillow
to help you get a good sleep at night
- A nursing bra and shawl
- Lists of
phone numbers or emails of family/friends you want to call or send photos to.
- Cord Blood
Collection kit [if you are saving the cord blood stem cells
from your baby]
- Baby and
Mommy ‘going home outfits.’
- Your
toiletry bag

will usually provide ‘sock-booties’ but you will be more comfortable in your
ownJ]

[and
remember there will be lots of pictures, so depending on your level of vanity,
you may want some hair spray and make up since you can’t go back and get those
‘right after birth’ photos again.
