Thirty Weeks Pregnant

At 30 weeks your baby is about 16 inches long and weighs close to 3 pounds. About the size of a a large cabbage. As she gets bigger and takes more room in your uterus, the pint and a half of amniotic fluid that surrounds her will decrease. Her eyesight is still developing. Even when she is born, she will keep her eyes closed for most part of the day. When she does open her eyes she will only be able to make out objects that are within a few inches of her face. Normal adult vision is 20/20 and hers at birth will be 20/400. She will still respond to changes in light and as weeks and months go by she will slowly be able to make out things from a distance.
You may be feeling tired these days, especially if you're having trouble sleeping or relaxing. You may also feel clumsier than normal, which is understandable. Remember you are heavier now and the concentration of weight in your baby bump is causing a shift in your center of gravity. At this point, you may want to invest in some new shoes since the relaxation of your ligaments may cause your feet to spread permanently. If you are a bit worried about how your labor will be like, that's normal. However, if you can't shake off the blues or you are constantly depressed, it's best if you talk to your doctor or midwife. One in ten expectant women battle depression during pregnancy.
