Your baby weights close to six pounds and about the size of a head of romaine lettuce. Your baby's liver and kidney are in working order. I your baby is still in breech position, don't worry. There is still plenty of time to change position. Your baby looks more like an infant this week which his chubby legs and dimples at the knees and elbows. His ears are extra sharp and studies show that when he is born he will recognize your voice and songs that you have sang to him. If you haven't, its not too late to start.

At 36 weeks you should notice a significant change in your belly. Doctors will call it lightening but its when your belly drops a bit meaning you baby has dropped into your pelvis. Once at this stage, your doctor will be able to tell how far the baby's head has moved down the pelvis. If you were not doing the penguin walk in the last few weeks, you may start soon. You may have swollen feet or ankles and this is completely normal. Rest assured that almost right after birth these symptoms will disappear. However, if you feel your swelling is sudden and very discomforting, then consult your doctor. Discharge may increase as your body is getting ready to give birth. If you notice any blood or blood kind mucus, this maybe the mucus plug. This could be a sign of early labor. Again notify your doctor immediately.
